Subject: The little fire fighter
In Phoenix, AZ. A 26-year-old mother stared down ather son who was dying of terminal leukaemia. Although her heart was filled with sadness, she also had a strong feeling of determination. Like any parent shewanted her son to grow up and fulfil all his dreams. Now that was no longer possible. The leukaemia would see to that. But she still wanted her son's dreams to come true. She took her son's hand and asked, "Billy, did youever think about what you wanted to be once you grewup? Did you ever dream and wish what you would do with your life?""Mommy, I always wanted to be a fireman when I grew up." Mom smiled back and said, "Let's see if we canmake your wish come true."Later that day she went to her local fire department in Phoenix, Arizona, where she met Fireman Bob, whohad a heart as big as Phoenix. She explained her son's final wish and asked if it might be possible to giveher six-year-old son a ride around the block on a fire engine. Fireman Bob said, "Look, we can do better thanthat. If you'll have your son ready at seven o'clock Wednesday morning, we'll make him an honorary firemanfor the whole day. He can come down to the fire station, eat with us, go out all the fire calls, thewhole nine yards! And if you'll give us his sizes,we'll get a real fire uniform for him, with a realfire hat-not a toy one-with the emblem of the Phoenix Fire Department on it, a yellow slicker like we wearand rubber boots. They're all manufactured right here in Phoenix, so we can get them fast."Three days later Fireman Bob picked up Billy, dressedhim in his fire uniform and escorted him from hishospital bed to the waiting hook and ladder truck.Billy got to sit on the back of the truck and help steer it back to the fire station. He was in heaven. There were three fire calls in Phoenix that day and Billy got to go out on all three calls. He rode in thedifferent fire engines, the paramedic's van, and even the fire chief's car. He was also videotaped for thelocal news program. Having his dream come true, with all the love and attention that was lavished upon him,so deeply touched Billy that he lived three months longer than any doctor thought possible. One night all of his vital signs began to dropdramatically and the head nurse, who believed in the hospice concept that no one should die alone, began tocall the family members to the hospital. Then she remembered the day Billy had spent as a fireman, soshe called the Fire Chief and asked if it would bepossible to send a fireman in uniform to the hospitalto be with Billy as he made his transition. The chief replied, "We can do better than that. We'll be therein five minutes. Will you please do me a favour? When you hear the sirens screaming and see the lightsflashing, will you announce over the PA system that there is not a fire? It's just the fire departmentcoming to see one of its finest members one more time. And will you open the window to his room?" About fiveminutes later a hook and ladder truck arrived at the hospital and extended its ladder up to Billy's thirdfloor open window.Sixteen fire-fighters climbed up the ladder into Billy's room. With his mother's permission, theyhugged him and held him and told him how much they loved him. With his dying breath, Billy looked up at the firechief and said, "Chief, am I really a fireman now?" "Billy, you are, and the Head Chief, Jesus, is holdingyour hand," the chief said. With those words, Billy smiled and said, "I know, He's been holding my handall day, and the angels have been singing." He closed his eyes one last time.I was requested to send this to someone I wanted Godto bless and I picked you. Please pass this to other people you want to be blessed. This story is powerfuland there is nothing attached, please do not break this pattern. Uplifting stories are one of the bestgifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot ofrewards, let's continue to uplift one another. May GodBless each and everyone who passes this on.

myself and yiting witnessed a small "show" today.

well, actually it's nothing grand but sometimes i just feel so proud of my team =) we were taking a break.. walked out of the hall. saw a particular sport cca at the parade square, they were in the midst of their camp. anw.. yeah. their senior was yelling at them and i mean screaming her lungs out. =/ we can hear every single word from the corridor even tho they were standing near the library area. and it was regarding some discipline stuff.. leaving their ex-co to clear up the place after a meal or smth i guess. that senior was screaming and shouting and scolding the J1s. super fierce. everyone was standing at attention. for a moment or so, you would haf thought if they were going thru some military training.. bleahx.

after that, as we walked away and after they finished scolding.. me and yt shared the same sentiments. will all these scoldings help? i've heard from my frens from that cca about how they dislike their senior.. finding them very irritating. i told yt.. they do not know the secret formula.. she just had to go "meow" and "bloop".. probably her juniors will listen. haha. yep and she told me about how their new cap and v.cap can't really work together.. well..

the whole idea of me blogging is just to say that..
i feel PROUD of the team! TEAM PJC! PIONEER SHUTTLERS (=
and i'm serious.

i(ME WENDY) also dunno why I'm blogging. but shitla asked me to...so ok lor. haha.

no lar...just feeling nostalgic can or not. haha.

so fast ar...and BBQ IS OVER. but i'm here to put recall some highlights...=) well firstly...the j2 gers went through two days of backbreaking torture to come up with the splendid prezzie for zk. and we're really happy that he loves it..tho WHY HE NEVER CRY AR?!

some pictures of our sweat and toil......we put in a lot of effort and love into the prezzie k!

the initial stages, where we were trying to squeeze everything inside...and there were some VERY CHALLENGING notes to put in. haha.

Me and shitla trying to put the damn black paper onto the board
without any creases.

our labour of love finally taking shape...

and j1s...we were touched...though we didn't like reallie end up crying and wailing and everything.....we did show that we were touched...just look...XM was so overwhelmed he couldn't control himself and held onto WAAALLter for dear life.

some were even carried away.......and sorta violated poor walter.

and den we were so pleased with our certs and towels we immediately went to take lotsa photos with them.... but i cannot fathom why the twins are looking like that. haha.and i also dunno why pw is not showing off the side of the cert that has WORDS and PICTURES.

Oh yeah....happy burfday to the June babies...and MICH TOO..hahaha she was sad that her bdae passed le...now happy?

hor hor edward.....we caught you openly ogling at Shitla. hahaha.

and then of course....how can we NOT take any group photos?? haha. being the vainpots that we all are....we went on to take lotsa pictures...but I'm amazed the j1 boys would join in the "1 to 10" pose craze. and ZK said he wanted to show off his neoprint skills...so here are the more frightening ones of him posing...

and here's our happy family! =)

and of course the rest who have contributed to
PJC's badminton history...

budden as the night proceeded...i think emotions were high....and...haha...overwhelmed by the beautiful sunrise...i think Gare Rern and Zhenhui suddenly found love....so romantic right...to be with your loved one...watching the sunrise...

and then after we separated....
the two lovebirds fell asleep.so sweeet!

I LOVE MY BADMINTON PEOPLE!! *HUGS* =)

thank you dearest sweetest loveliest j1s for the prezzies! i know u all very poor thing....tried to keep the secret from us until u all were like spies. haha. sneaky and secretive. lolx. and the effort u put in for this bbq....really thanks thanks thanks! and i know u all no more kaching...hahaha.

and we also on our part very jialat too!! ZK DO U LIKE YOUR PRESENT?!!

ohmyshen. two days of solid hard work. haha. bent over all the photos and notes...rearranging them left right centre...adding the border...designing the front and back...the backaches we've suffered. lolx. but it was worth it..just look at zk's face when he received the present. grin until cannot see his already very small eyes. and he refused to let go of it(altho im not sure if he reallie loves it or becos he knows, he if lets go of it the guys will throw him into the air) but still it was damn farnie seeing him attempt to read all out notes( jel's inclded) in the dark and using a torch to do so.

enjoyed myself like crazzziiie. tho got slight hiccup(sorrie guys.sorrie!!)...we made up in the end...and yesh it was a BLAaaAaaSTTT. (BOOOM!) we gambled..we ate...we danced...we cycled...so many things we did!

yar tho i must say food was...a lot..but not came into my tummy. lolx. we danced the fundance..now come to think of it..looks rather stupid. haha. and the cycling...WAH my pi gu kai hua already. it hurts everytime i seat...and i wince even when i walk. lolx. lao le. but it was exciting ...haha and we all learnt to have a sense of responsibility( ie making sure pw is within sight at all times and she can be heard blooping). and oh! we saw a lot of jelaines leh! she was under the overhead bridge at kallang, rummaging the bins in geylang..haha and a lot of ur kind was having a wrestling match near the underpass! tsk. so noisy lor.

came back to watch the sunrise...tho really can't see but thats not the point...we made an attempt to be together. and we rescued a water snake! wah the j1s are really brave. haha.

and of cos...WAHAHAHAHA i saw soooo many eyecandies. see until got diabetes.

but still...lemme end off with saying...its been an enjoyable 1 yr ++ here...in the pjc team. really love the gers a lot...both seniors and juniors...the btching sessions...gossiping sessions...funtimes we've had...all shall stay in my memory....guys..thanks for making me roll my eyes nonstop and luff until pengz on so many occasions. really...i still truly believe we're the most united and funloving and closest bunch ever for any cca in pjc. and this bbq is just the perfect platform to forge closer ties btwen j1s and j2s. just found out j1 guys equally horrible as j2 guys at times...haha. and all so horrible....WEY j1 GUYS U ALL GOT NTH BETTER TO WRITE IZZIT. can u all remember my other virtues other den "the ger who cried cos the dog bite bird"?! hmph.

oh wells. haha.

love u lots.
-with love, the ger who cried cos the dog bite bird-
